RESEARCH

Picture1

I am interested broadly in the evolution of animal behavior and its roots in genetic change (black arrow above). However, I have a growing interest in the complementary process: how behavior influences genome evolution (blue arrow). I pursue these interests through the following research projects.

Social evolution in sweat bees

Genomics of mutualism in plant-ants

Bacterial endosymbionts in plant-ants

Second-generation sequencing and phylogenetics

Polygyny in east African acacia-ants
